TLC was led with the amazing vision and commitment of Thea Jarvis for many years after which her daughter, Pippa took over the management reigns to continue Thea’s wonderful work. With all the incumbent pressures of funding the organisation and setting new sustainability strategies, some difficulties have recently been experienced at TLC, as they are in many organisations of this kind and particularly in the current economic climate. A very productive meeting was held on 6 December 2018 with Thea and Pippa Jarvis, other members of the Jarvis family and concerned TLC supporters. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and resolve the current crisis at TLC which unfortunately has been aired on social media. All communications in future will be vetted by Thea and Pippa and this forum and then shared in the public domain such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin etc through this forum.

All parties unanimously agree that every effort will be made to keep TLC as an organization open to continue its excellent work with abandoned and vulnerable babies and children. An interim independent referee will be sought for assistance with immediate urgent financial and organisational decisions. Thea and Pippa will work together with this referee on the ultimate goal being the continuation of TLC .

TLC now more than ever needs the support of its extensive global network of supporters, staff, donors and volunteers, and a plea for urgent financial support is made to ensure the financial stability of the organisation. Its current debt is a major hurdle in fulfilling this goal. TLC’S books are audited annually and it is currently in excellent standing with the Department of Social Development . Sincere and profuse thanks are extended to all those supporters who have made donations recently which have helped to settle certain of the urgent debts. Thanks too to all the supporters who have extended their support for a solution. We have no doubt that with these interventions and all your support, TLC will continue its important work with the most vulnerable of our society.
